Real Madrid’s meeting with Atalanta on Tuesday night saw a change in the club’s midifeld pecking order all but confirmed.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Dani Ceballos overtaking Luka Modrić as the change in question.
Former Arsenal man Ceballos has of course been afforded an increasingly prominent role in Carlo Ancelotti’s engine room setup over recent weeks.
Amid injury problems on the part of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni, the 28-year-old has been handed the chance to prove his talents on a more frequent basis.
And this is an opportunity which Ceballos has gone on to grasp with both hands.
Superb in and out of possession alike, the Spaniard has shone across recent appearances against the likes of Leganés, Getafe and the aforementioned Atalanta.
And it was his start in the latter of these fixtures which proved an altogether noteworthy one:
‘Ceballos has earned a place in Ancelotti’s line-up ahead of Modrić’ moving forward, according to Relevo.
