The 37 year-old whistler has been in charge of two Celtic games this season. Robertson was the whistler for Brendan Rodgers’ side’s opening league fixture of the season in a 4-0 victory over Kilmarnock.
SFA Head of Refereeing Willie Collum believed that Robertson missed a penalty in the match as Kyogo was clearly wiped out by Kilmarnock goalkeeper Robbie McCrorie late on in the game.

His second game as the man in the middle for Celtic this campaign came at McDiarmid Park in the Hoops’ 6-0 rout in September. Brendan Rodgers criticised the match officials post-match for disallowing a Daizen Maeda volley. After reviewing a potential foul by Austin Trusty in the build-up to the goal, Robertson awarded a free-kick to St Johnstone.
Taking charge of 16 games this season across four different competitions, which his included Europa Conference League appointments from UEFA, Wednesday’s referee for the top of the table Scottish Premiership clash has brandished 62 yellows and only one red.
The experienced match-official was on VAR duties over the weekend at Tannadice for Dundee United against St Mirren. Robertson called on-field referee Matthew McDiarmid to the monitor on two separate occasions for a potential penalty, and a possible red card check.
At Pittodrie on Wednesday night, Don Robertson will be assisted by AR1 Frank Connor and AR2 David Roome.
