Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly in talks with Saudi Pro League newcomers Neom SC over a summer move.

Onana has endured a difficult season that has seen him make a number of mistake-strewn performances. He has struggled to be consistent since joining the Red Devils from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 and already, there are suggestions he could be on his way out in the upcoming window.

United continue to be linked with a number of his potential replacements including Diogo Costa (Porto), Bart Verbruggen (Brighton), Aaron Ramsdale (Southampton), Kaua Santos (Eintracht Frankfurt), Mike Maignan (AC Milan), Carl Rushworth (Brighton), Lucas Chevalier (Lille) and Senne Lammens (Royal Antwerp)

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that there is interest in the Cameroonian from Saudi Arabia.

It was subsequently noted that United must sell Onana for nothing less than £26.3m, to ensure the transaction is not recorded as a loss.

United of course agreed a deal worth £43.8m with Inter to sign the player, and the fee is amortised into the club’s accounts over the course of his five-year contract, hence his £26.3m book value.

Now, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has given a huge update on Onana’s future, indicating that his management is in concrete talks with Neom over a summer switch to the Gulf state.

“According to our information, the Saudi club Neom has already begun major discussions with his representatives.”

“Furthermore, Onana is open to leaving Europe for Saudi Arabia. It remains to be seen whether all parties can reach an agreement.”

Onana still has time to turn his fortunes around at Old Trafford and show why the Red Devils forked out big money to secure his signature.

The 29-year-old remains a popular figure at the training ground and in the dressing room.

United are back in action on Sunday when they go to the Vitality Stadium to take on Bournemouth. Kick-off is at 14:00 BST.
