Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has been talking about Alexander Isak.

The Newcastle United striker currently away with Sweden on international duty, following his winning goal at Wembley as United lifted the League Cup.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has high praise for Alexander Isak, indeed, the very highest praise.

The former Chelsea and Leeds striker believes that the NUFC forward is the best in the world.

Not many, if any, Newcastle United fans would disagree.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink states that what especially marks the quality of Alexander Isak, is how he plays AND scores against the very best teams, not just the sides lower down the Premier League.

In his two matches against Liverpool this season, Alexander Isak has scored in both and given VVD and his teammates a torrid time throughout, including on the biggest stage of all at Wembley.

Also in the League Cup run this season, Isak also scored against both Chelsea and Arsenal.

Whilst in the Premier League, Alexander Isak has so far scored against the likes of top ten teams Liverpool, Arsenal, Forest, Chelsea, Villa and Brighton, as well as against lesser teams, such as Man U and Spurs.

“I think that Alexander Isak is the hottest striker on the planet right now.

“I have said that for a while, he is the one that is the best number nine, and I know he can play in the 10 as well or off the side, but through the middle, he’s deadly.

“For me, Isak is very good.

“If you look at the chances that he gets, how he converts them, how he finishes them, he scores in important matches. He scores against the Arsenals, the Liverpools. He doesn’t only score against the bottom 10 teams for instance.

“In big matches he is there.

“That tells me that he is the best striker that is around at the moment. His outside of the box play, making combinations, he understands it.

“How he finishes, he’s always in control – that is a trait of a striker that is hard to teach.

“He’s got the killer instinct and he’s really calm when he gets opportunities.
