The agent of Manchester United winger Antony has confirmed they may be open to a loan transfer in January, marking a remarkable shift in stance from the player’s camp.

United splashed £84 million to secure Antony’s services from Ajax in the summer of 2022. He arrived at the club as Erik ten Hag’s marquee signing.

However, their reunion proved to be significantly less successful compared to their time together in Amsterdam.

Antony has often found himself on the wrong end of criticism from supporters for his poor and ineffective performances, which have often left a lot to be desired. This has been the case for over two years now and the signs are not looking very positive under Ruben Amorim.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that INEOS are eager to cut their losses and offload Antony as soon as January when the winter transfer window commences.

A number of possible destinations have been mooted for the Brazilian including Besiktas and Flamengo.

Last month, Antony’s agent, Junior Pedroso, insisted that his client had no intention of parting ways with the Red Devils.

Now, it seems that Antony has had a change of heart and is considering the prospect of making a loan move to revive his career.

The 24-year-old’s representative told GIVEMESPORT, “Yes, many clubs have approached us for Antony’s move in January. These clubs wanted to understand the situation for Antony, so I can confirm that there’s concrete interest.”

On United’s position, he said, “To be fair, Manchester United have never expressed any interest to sell or loan out Antony to us. We never received this sort of communication so far.”

“Man United management never told us that they want Antony to leave, despite the reports we see around about our client.”

He added, “I can say that Antony’s future is very much tied to Manchester United’s interests. If the club thinks it would be a good idea to loan Antony out in January so he can get more minutes and regain his trust, we will work together on that option.”

“Otherwise, Antony is working hard to regain his place and show his best skills under the new coach Ruben Amorim.”

Antony and his teammates are back in action later today when they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium.
