Arne Slot has confirmed Liverpool will be without injured right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold for Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.
Alexander-Arnold limped off midway through the second half of Liverpool's defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in midweek after an awkward fall, with Slot immediately admitting he feared for the defender's involvement in Sunday's final.
Offering a final update on Alexander-Arnold ahead of the game, Slot confirmed the Englishman will not be ready to play.
"Trent is indeed not available," Slot said. "He will not be there at the final.
"But he's still to be assessed for how long it's going to take. We do expect him back before the end of the season."

Liverpool are also sweating over the fitness of centre-back Ibrahima Konate. The Frenchman limped off late against PSG and, while he is not believed to have suffered a serious injury, he faces a race against time to recover before Sunday.
"We didn't train yesterday – we had a day off – and the day before was recovery," Slot explained. "I expect [Konate] to train with us today, but let's see how it is."
Now out of the Champions League and the FA Cup, Liverpool are hoping to keep their hopes of a domestic double alive by lifting the Carabao Cup at Wembley. The Reds are the most successful side in competition history, having won on no fewer than ten occasions, the last of which came last season when Jurgen Klopp's youthful side saw off Chelsea.
