RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Šeško was reportedly a target for Paris Saint-Germain during last year’s summer transfer window as the club searched for a reliable goal scorer after Kylian Mbappé’s departure.

The Slovenian forward, under contract with Leipzig until 2029 and valued between €70 million to €75 million, made a strong impression during the 2023-24 season, scoring 18 goals and delivering two assists in 42 matches.

While PSG explored several striker options over the summer, sporting advisor Luis Campos decided against bringing in a new No. 9.

Šeško has carried his impressive form into the 2024-25 campaign. The Leipzig standout has scored 13 goals and registered three assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Recent reports were suggesting that Arsenal might bring in Šeško on loan, a move that would undoubtedly turn heads. However, the player’s agent, Elvis Basanovic, was baffled by the rumors, as there had been no discussions with the north London club.

He told GiveMeSport: “I don’t know from where does this story comes. I never talked with Arsenal about loan of Šeško. Šeško is not a player for loans, never a topic for Arsenal or any other club”.

If a move were to happen, it’s likely coming in the summer, and with Randal Kolo Muani now gone in the short term, it will be interesting to see if PSG revisit this file in a few months.
