Arsenal hold meeting over deal for Athletic Club star | OneFootball

Premier League giants Arsenal recently sat down for a meeting with their counterparts from La Liga outfit Athletic Club.

That’s according to transfer insider Santi Aouna, who points towards as much as having come with a view to a potential deal for Nico Williams.

Wide-man Nico was of course widely expected to bring a close to his stint in Athletic colours last summer, only to stay put and sign fresh terms at the last.

Speculation, though, has nevertheless continued to circulate, pointing towards an upcoming summer move for the Spanish international.

And as alluded to above, ready to position themselves at the front of the queue should Nico opt for a new challenge, it is understood, are Arsenal.

As per a report from the aforementioned Santi Aouna, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the final third:

‘A meeting took place in the last days between Nico Williams’ representative and Andrea Berta, the new sporting director of Arsenal.’
