With the January transfer window now open, Randal Kolo Muani’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is shrouded in uncertainty. The French forward has struggled to establish himself this season, raising questions about his role in Luis Enrique’s plans.

The 26-year-old has managed just 453 minutes of playing time across all competitions, failing to nail down a starting spot. His exclusion from PSG’s squad for the final three matches of 2024 has only fueled speculation about a potential departure.

Premier League clubs are reportedly circling, with Chelsea emerging as a keen suitor. According to TEAMtalk, the Blues admire Kolo Muani’s attacking versatility, while Arsenal is also keeping tabs on the forward, with Mikel Arteta considering a move in January.

Tottenham Hotspur have now joined the chase, as Ange Postecoglou seeks reinforcements for his injury-plagued squad. The Paris Saint-Germain striker is said to be among Spurs’ targets as they prepare for a busy winter transfer window.

Should Randal Kolo Muani move to the Premier League?

Amid growing speculation about Kolo Muani’s future, French football expert Robin Bairner weighed in during the latest episode of the PSG Talking podcast. Bairner believes the Bundesliga might be a more suitable destination for the forward compared to the Premier League.

“I would say he’s probably more suited for the Bundesliga simply because of the attributes he has in terms of his pace,” Bairner said. “He’s not necessarily the strongest center forward, but I think he works quite well in transition. Equally, he’s still pretty handy around the box. The fact that he’s proven in the Bundesliga and has played there in the past has to count for something with German teams moving for him. I think we could see him wind up there.

“The Premier League transfer rumors are interesting, though, because so many players want to play in the Premier League. It may well be that he sees the period between now and the end of the season, if it is indeed a loan move—which seems the most likely at this point—as an audition for a longer-term opportunity in the Premier League. Alternatively, he could use the Bundesliga as a fallback option, regardless of what happens in the next few months.”

TEAMtalk recently claimed that a £50 million bid could be enough to secure Kolo Muani’s signature, a bargain considering he joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt for £76 million in 2023.
