Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have both struggled to get consistent performances from their No. 9 position this season.
Gonçalo Ramos is gradually working his way back from injury, but manager Luis Enrique has opted for a false nine setup instead of starting Randal Kolo Muani. Meanwhile, there’s speculation that Kolo Muani could be available in the January transfer window.
On the Manchester United side, they made significant financial investments in Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, yet neither has firmly secured the starting striker role.
Former Italian footballer Christian Vieri suggested in his La Gazzetta dello Sport column that Manchester United and PSG should consider targeting Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui, who has tallied ten goals and three assists for the Serie A club.

CaughtOffside reported on Monday, citing sources, that Arsenal are still monitoring Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres but have also turned their attention to in-form Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui as an alternative.
Retegui is quickly emerging as a potential Plan B for the Gunners as they look to bolster their attacking options. A move could be on the cards if Atalanta receive at least €50 million for the Italy international.
While Atalanta are reluctant to sell, they may find it difficult to resist if the offer meets their valuation, and €50 million is seen as a figure that could test their resolve.
Retegui has been in excellent form this season, scoring 11 goals in 12 Serie A appearances and adding three assists, which explains why he’s starting to attract significant interest.
