Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Monday provided an update on the wellbeing of attacking starlet Lamine Yamal.
And the news, all told, proved to be of a positive nature.
Wide-man Lamine was of course forced to sit out once more this weekend, as Barcelona marked their post-international break return to action against Celta Vigo.
The 17-year-old suffered an ankle injury prior to the break, which also saw him miss Barca’s defeat at the hands of Real Sociedad.
Ahead of the Blaugrana’s Champions League meeting with Brest on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Lamine’s wellbeing was put to the aforementioned Hansi Flick, during his pre-match press conference.
And though Flick went on to confirm that the Spanish international, as expected, will be absent once more tomorrow, he also revealed his hope that Lamine could return to the fold at the weekend, to face Las Palmas:
“Lamine has a quality that allows you to control the ball but also allows the opponent to give us more space. I think and hope that this is the last game he misses because today he was very good but we will have to wait. I hope that on Saturday he will be an option, perhaps from the bench, but we will see.”
