Barcelona offered chance to sign Arsenal star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona were recently offered up the signature of a member of the midfield ranks at Arsenal.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Thomas Partey as the player in question.

Ghanaian international Partey, as things stand, is due to bring a close to his time on Arsenal’s books this coming summer.

This comes with the 31-year-old’s contract set to expire, and no agreement having reached on the terms of a renewal between the parties.

With this in mind, Partey’s entourage, in turn, have spent recent weeks scouring Europe’s top leagues, in search of a potential landing spot for their client.

One such option to have been explored by the midfielder’s representatives was that of Barcelona, who were contacted to gauge their interest in Partey’s signing as a free agent.

As per Sport, however, Deco and co. made clear that the Blaugrana are not interested at this moment in time:

‘One of the possibilities for Partey was Barça, but the club did not take any step forward because they consider that they have the position well covered.’
