In the last few months, FC Barcelona have undertaken a lot of work to ensure the long-term continuity of some of the most important players in their squad.

Meanwhile, the Catalans are also working on the renewals of other players, including the defender Jules Kounde. Barcelona are reportedly negotiating with the Frenchman to extend his contract, which currently ends in 2027, till 2030, and the relationship between the two sides is quite good.

In this regard, an update has been provided by SPORT, which claims that there is already an agreement in principle between the two parties to extend the French defender’s stay at the Blaugrana club till 2030.

Thus, three more years will be added to his contract, and he will stay at the Catalan club till he reaches 31 years of age.

Barcelona are very satisfied with how Kounde is performing this season, while the player himself has fully adapted to his new role as a fullback, and the feeling that he does not like playing in this position is no longer present in the fans.

In addition to the three years, the Frenchman will also receive a small increase in his salary, although the increase is not a significant upgrade over what he is currently earning.

Despite this agreement, the final renewal will still need some time before it can be officially announced as the Blaugranes currently do not have enough salary space to get him registered for three more years.
