Even after a promising campaign, Barcelona are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window, where the future of several players could be on the line.

One of them is Ansu Fati, who has completely fallen out of favour this season and is not a part of Hansi Flick’s plans anymore.

Barcelona’s plan with Fati this summer

With Fati falling behind the likes of Ferran Torres, Fermin Lopez and others in the pecking order, Barcelona are ready to offload him this summer, reports Fabrizio Romano.

It is no secret that Fati is not a useful entity to Barça anymore and keeping that in mind, the club are ready to axe him from the squad at the end of the season.

He was notably linked with a move away from Catalonia in January, but the forward had no desire to leave the club. In fact, he even ended up rejecting four offers from various clubs across Europe.

Romano adds that the player will make the final decision regarding his future, as he still has a few years left on his contract.

It is entirely plausible that the winger decides to continue at Barça and reject other offers. This is a scenario the club would like to avoid, even if it means they have to offload the player on a free transfer.

Whatever may be the case, Fati’s potential exit in the summer could see Barcelona try to sign a new winger to replace the Spaniard.

This is according to Romano, who believes the club remain keen on shoring up their ranks, especially if they can get rid of Fati.

However, offloading Fati, as mentioned earlier, could be far from straightforward and would depend on several factors, including the player’s will.

Catalan rivals Girona have been recently linked with a move for Fati next season, but whether or not the move works out remains to be seen.
