Jonathan Tah is one of a number of players that Barcelona are tracking for the summer of 2025 as a free-transfer reinforcement.
The Blaugrana had held an interest in Tah last summer as well and while nothing came of it, they continue to be keen on acquiring his services.
After all, the German international is out of contract at Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season and can be signed on a Bosman deal.
However, Barcelona are now staring at the possibility of missing out on Tah’s signing in the summer of 2025 with arch-rivals Real Madrid meddling.
Indeed, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Real Madrid are seriously considering a move for Tah in the upcoming January transfer window.

Following the season-ending ACL injury to Eder Militao, Los Blancos are desperate for a new centre-back in the winter and see Tah as a feasible option to reinforce their defensive line.
There are no negotiations taking place between Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen as of yet but a move to the Santiago Bernabeu midway through the season could become a real possibility for the 28-year-old.
This development comes as a spanner in the works as far as Barcelona’s plans with Tah were concerned, with the Catalans being keen on securing his services for free in the summer.
Furthermore, German giants Bayern Munich, who were also interested in Tah during the summer this year, are also in the race and stand a great chance of signing him as well.
So, Tah’s move to Barça in 2025 appears to be in jeopardy with Real Madrid now weighing up a move for him as early as January.
