With this victory, Barcelona continue their pursuit of another Copa de la Reina title. Meanwhile, Real Madrid exit the competition, still searching for a way to close the gap on their biggest rivals. The win extends Barcelona’s unbeaten streak against Madrid in all competitions.

Misa; Lakrar, Antonia, Carmona, Méndez, Feller, Leupolz, Tolletti, Angeldahl, Athenea, Alba Redondo.
From the start, Barcelona took control of the game, dictating the tempo and creating early chances. Their attacking intent was rewarded in the 24th minute when Patri Guijarro opened the scoring with a well-placed strike. It was after a brilliant Graham Hansen nutmeg to Angeldahl.
Despite playing better than the week before, Real Madrid struggled to keep possession and were often pinned back by Barcelona’s high press.
The second goal came just after half-time, with Ewa Pajor doubling the lead. The Polonian stole the ball in Real Madrid’s construction phase, as Maria Méndez could not control it at the first touch, and went through Misa Rodriguez’s goal. The goalkeeper touched the ball but could do nothing to stop it from entering.
As Fridolina Rolfö went into the field, the Swede crossed the ball to the box, searching for a finisher. Ewa Pajor found it and put that header into Misa’s goal, scoring the third of the night.
In the last minutes, Athenea del Castillo could streghten the gap, but after scaping from Esmee Brugts and Mapi León, her shot went out of the goal. At stoppage time, Olga Carmona ran by the left side and crossed the ball, where Signe Brunn finally found the honour goal from the far post.
The Copa de la Reina final will be played on June 8th, but the host city is yet to be confirmed. Barcelona will play against Atlético de Madrid, who defeated the revelation team, Granada.
After the match, Ona Batlle was critical of the fact that the RFEF has not determined the host city. However, it is not an issue that the locker room is worried about at this moment with the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals approaching and another Clásico to play on the 22nd of March.
