Rayo Vallecano sporting director David Cobeno has warned suitors of right-back Andrei Ratiu they are not prepared to negotiate over a summer sale.
The 26-year-old is enjoying an excellent season on the right of Rayo's defence, chipping in with two goals and two assists to help his side's push for a spot in next season's European competitions.
His form has attracted interest from a number of sides across Europe. There was Premier League interest in January and Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be eyeing a summer switch, while Barcelona have also identified Ratiu as a potential target.
In a recent interview with Radio MARCA, Cobeno insisted they will not make life easy for any of Ratiu's suitors, instead pointing to the release clause in the right-back's contract which is believed to sit at around the €25m (£21m) mark.
"He is 50% our player," Cobeno began. "If someone wants to ask us about him, we are open to talk, but as of today, we would refer to the clause.
"He is a very important player for us, who is living his first year in the elite playing continuously and our wish is that he can continue for many more years."
Ratiu was recently asked about the speculation but did his best to distance himself from all the rumours surrounding his future.
"I'm focused on my work and on Rayo, which is my team, and I respect them," he told AS.
"I come from a humble family. I've never liked being the centre of attention, giving interviews... It's hard for me to feel confident with people."
