Paris Saint-Germain opted for a short-term solution by sending Xavi Simons on loan to RB Leipzig for another season, but the 20-year-old’s future could take a decisive turn next summer, with a permanent transfer potentially on the table.
In September, Christian Falk reported that Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Simons’ situation.
Meanwhile, interest from Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Manchester United earlier this summer underscores the Dutch midfielder’s growing appeal among Europe’s elite. According to Sport Bild, Leipzig are keen to make Simons’ stay permanent as early as January.
However, the player’s €80 million price tag, set by PSG, remains a major stumbling block for the Bundesliga side. Simons, under contract with the Parisians until 2027, has shown little inclination to return to the French capital, adding intrigue to his next move.

Journalist Christian Falk reports that Bayern Munich chief Max Eberl still has Simons on his radar and is expected to make another push to sign him from PSG in the summer of 2025, especially with Florian Wirtz off the market.
CaughtOffside reported this month that Manchester United have a realistic shot at outmaneuvering local rivals Manchester City to secure Simons next summer.
