Carlos Augusto refused to hide his enthusiasm after Inter Milan’s 2-0 triumph at fellow Serie A title hopefuls Atalanta.
Speaking to La Domenica Sportiva via FCInterNews, the 26-year-old revealed his happiness for the goal and another win.
Back to the scoresheet for the first time since December, Carlos Augusto paved the way for Inter’s victory in Bergamo.
Indeed, he netted the opening goal early in the second half, heading home Hakan Calhanoglu’s delightful cross.
Lautaro Martinez followed up on Augusto’s opener to seal Inter’s eighth successive win against La Dea in all competitions.
Meanwhile, the ex-Monza wingback excelled in his second consecutive Serie A start, winning the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
Furthermore, he bagged his third league goal this term.
“I’m happy for the goal and the performance we delivered,” Augusto said.
“We knew that playing in Bergamo is very difficult.

“But our strength is that even those who play less work hard during the week to make the most of their opportunities.
“I want to keep going like this and help Inter, which is the most important thing.
“We have a tough schedule with many matches, so it’s not just the starting eleven that make the difference.
“We are friends, we care about each other, and that makes a difference in games.”
The game hit a pause button for a few minutes due to a medical emergency in the stands.
However, it caused a lapse of concentration among Atalanta players, allowing Augusto to score a free header.
“I can’t speak for them, but at that moment, I was alone and thought I could score,” Augusto admitted.
“Even Mkhitaryan came up to me and said I would score. These are moments when concentration might not be at its peak.
“It made the difference because the game opened up afterward.”
Finally, he highlighted the importance of regular first-team football.
“When I have match rhythm, I feel great,” Augusto added. “The training sessions after games are tough because you have to run a lot.
