Carlos Augusto addressed the media in the build-up to tonight’s Coppa Italia semi-final clash between AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Speaking to InterTV via FCInterNews, the Brazilian wingback urged his teammates to remain focused.
Inter head into proceedings in far better shape than their eternal rivals after beating Udinese 2-1 last weekend.
Meanwhile, Milan found themselves on the receiving end of that same scoreline at Napoli.
As a result, Sergio Conceicao could fail to lead the Rossoneri to a coveted European finish through Serie A qualification.
Therefore, Milan will be heavily motivated to extend their three-game unbeaten run against the Nerazzurri.
Despite missing Lautaro Martinez, Denzel Dumfries, and Piotr Zielinski to injuries, Inter should be confident of breaking that streak.
Indeed, Simone Inzaghi’s charges have hit a purple patch, winning their last five competitive games on the trot.
Meanwhile, Carlos Augusto starts on the left wing ahead of Federico Dimarco.

“It’s clear that the derby is always a special match, and we need to stay focused on ourselves,” Augusto said.
“We must approach both legs well and deliver a great semi-final performance.”
Then, he admitted Inter’s recent showings have lacked conviction.
“We’ve struggled in recent games, but that’s in the past now.
“We have to stay focused on today’s match because, in football, every game is different. Our only focus is on ourselves.”
Augusto also hailed Milan’s quality despite Rossoneri’s noticeable downfall.
“Yes, they are a team full of quality, especially on the flanks.
“We need to stay focused on ourselves and concentrate on our work.”
Inter remain in contention for three major titles, and Augusto confirms their ambition to win every trophy.
“It’s clear that we are Inter, and we have to compete to win every tournament,” he added during an interview with SportMediaset via FCInterNews.
“A derby in the semi-final is always special, but we have a long season ahead.
“We’re still fighting on three fronts, and we need to approach each competition in the best possible way.”
Augusto also explained the importance of strength in depth.
“In my opinion, that’s why it’s important to have many quality players, even on the bench.
“At moments like this in the season, we need everyone because there are so many games.
“Even those who played less at the start of the season can now get their chance.
“The first derbies didn’t go well for us, but we analyzed what we did wrong.
“That’s in the past now, we need to stay focused on these next two games, and then we’ll see.
