Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for the Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as Christopher Nkunku wants to leave the club in the January transfer window.
The Serbia international is the Old Lady’s top goal scorer this season having found the net 12 times in all competitions, taking his overall tally to 52 goals across three-and-a-half seasons.
Vlahovic, who was linked with Arsenal before his £66.6 million move from Fiorentina in 2022, has not agreed terms on a new deal; his current contract expires in 2026.
Chelsea are “considering a move” for the 24-year-old, according to The Times, to provide competition for Nicolas Jackson, who hasn’t scored in six games, and in case Nkunku leaves this month.
Juventus are “keen” to get Vlahovic and his £8.5m salary off their wage bill, especially as he is owed a pay increase in the final year of his deal.
The centre-forward is not deemed compatible with manager Thiago Motta’s style of play and the Italian club have already agreed a loan deal with PSG for Randal Kolo-Muani, although that has not yet been completed.
Nkunku, meanwhile, wants to return to Germany after failing to secure place in Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup this season. The French attacker has started just three times in the Premier League this term, having mostly been utilised in the Uefa Conference League.
Bayern Munich have been linked with the 27-year-old, but are “unwilling” to meet Chelsea’s £65 million price tag.
