Chelsea fans will fume with Enzo Maresca’s deluded response on Aston Villa defeat | OneFootball

Chelsea fans are already planning a protest against the owners and all things they have installed at this club, and they will fume even more now.

The Blues lost 2-1 against Aston Villa on Saturday evening after being 1-0 up inside the first 20 minutes. I think Chelsea fans would have just expected even at that point, that their side were still going to lose this game, and they did.

Yet another horror goalkeeper error from Chelsea saw Villa grab the winning goal near the end of the game, but we all saw it coming.

Chelsea could not score and were really terrible. Even Cole Palmer was terrible, and he was seen trying to blame others for a bad pass that HE himself made. This just about sums everything up right now.

Chelsea deserved to win, apparently…

Aston Villa had more possession than Chelsea in the game with 53%, and there wasn’t much difference in terms of attempts on goal and on target, with The Blues ever so slightly edging those stats.

However, despite their being little between the two in terms of the stats and also the fact that Villa actually won the game, Enzo Maresca is still claiming that Chelsea deserved to win.

That is absolutely deluded. At best, they perhaps deserved a draw but even that is a real stretch. Once Villa turned up after a poor first 20 minutes, it only looked like them being the winning side.

Maresca said after the game, ‘we didn’t deserve to lose. They gave everything.’

Chelsea fans will HATE seeing comments like this. I remember when Mauricio Pochettino and Graham Potter used to say things like this and it would see Blues fans fume.

Maresca is slowly losing any support he might have from the fan base, and that becomes even more worrying in the midst of going 11 games in all competitions and only winning 2 of them.
