Brighton & Hove Albion have expressed an interest in signing Chelsea centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, a report has revealed.
Chelsea signed Tosin on a free transfer during the summer when his Fulham contract expired, but the 27-year-old has failed to hold down a position in Enzo Maresca's starting lineup and has dropped below academy graduate Josh Acheampong in the pecking order in recent weeks.
Having started just seven times in the Premier League this season, Tosin has received an approach from Brighton, with The Mail stating there is significant interest in luring the centre-back away from Stamford Bridge this month.
Just whether Chelsea will entertain a departure for Tosin remains to be seen. Most of his starts have come because of injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile, but despite the French pair's fitness woes, Chelsea are still well-stocked at the back.
Levi Colwill is a permanent starter and he has been joined in the heart of defence by 18-year-old Acheampong in recent weeks. Tosin has operated as cover alongside Axel Disasi, while both Trevoh Chalobah and Aaron Anselmino have been recalled from respective loans with Crystal Palace and Boca Juniors.
Of the group, reports suggest Chelsea are keen to part ways with Disasi, but the Blues could be tempted by the chance to make an immediate profit on Tosin, who was signed for nothing just seven months ago.
