FC Barcelona have been one of the best teams in Europe so far this season with Hansi Flick getting the squad at his disposal to play an extremely attacking brand of football. Many players have put their hand up and impressed thus far this season.
One player who has been ever present for Barcelona so far this season is defender Jules Kounde, who has transitioned into one of the very best right-back in the world. Originally a center-back, the Frenchman has worked hard on his game.
Not having missed a game for club or country since 2023, Kounde is in the form of his life and seems to be working hard for his fitness. He hardly ever seems to be tired and is one of those who Flick hardly rotates in the XI.
Now, as per Fichajes, Chelsea are a club interested in signing Jules Kounde from Barcelona and are willing to spend around €70m to sign the Frenchman. The report mentions that the Blues are not the only club with interest but they are willing to go all the way.
The board believes that Kounde would be an excellent asset to Enzo Maresca’s team and Chelsea over the past couple of seasons have shown that they are not hesitant to throw mud on the wall too see what sticks, irrespective of how much it costs.
Despite the Blues’ interest, there is absolutely no need for Barcelona to entertain any kind of offer for the Frenchman. Kounde is one of the first names on the team sheet and is still not in the prime years of his career, making him an asset to the team.
Since joining from Sevilla, Kounde has grown in stature with every passing game at Barcelona. He still has a long way to go and remains key to the team this season in their bid to win the treble under Hansi Flick in his first campaign as manager here.
It remains to be seen just how far Chelsea are willing to go for Kounde and if Barcelona are tempted at any point in this transfer saga. One would assume that it is highly unlikely and let’s wait and see how it plays out.
