Claude Makélélé: "Incredible excitement" | OneFootball

Ahead of the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, our PSG Legends tell us about their fondest memories of the big games and their connection with the fans. Claude Makélélé, a Parisian from 2008 to 2011, gave us his perspective.

Claude, how do you approach a major European fixture?

'Matches often start even before kick-off, when you greet the fans and take in the whole atmosphere around the Parc. Our friends, our team-mates, everyone was talking about the big games ahead of us, and all that excitement gave us a huge amount of motivation. It made us want to give it our all!'

What's your greatest memory from a big match?

'I have a lot of great memories with the fans. Playing at the Parc was special, there's an incredible excitment. That's my greatest memory. That passion that surrounds the club and gives the players drive, courage and motivation.'
