Well, there is a changing of the guard.

A new pecking order of dominant clubs, a new Premier League big four.

Clubs where the underlying AND obvious stats point to a new reality.

Not one year worth of stats.

Not two years worth of stats.

How about three years worth of stats.

Premier League points from January 2022 to January 2025 (as of 22 Jan 2025):

251 Arsenal

250 Liverpool

207 Newcastle United

188 Aston Villa

188 Man U

185 Spurs

180 Chelsea

168 Brighton

149 Brentford

146 Crystal Palace

143 West Ham

126 Wolves

124 Everton

The above are the 14 clubs that have been in the Premier League for all of these last four seasons (2021/22 to 2024/25 inclusive).

So the points picked up in the second half of the 2021/22 Premier League season, the final 19 PL matches of that season plus right up to the present day.

As you can see, a new order at the top, with Newcastle United emerging as part of that Premier League big four, 19+ more points gained than the likes of Man U and Villa, 27+ more than Chelsea and those below the Stamford Bridge club.

Whilst at the very bottom, we see just how lucky Everton have been in this time period, easily the worst of the 14 Premier League clubs and somehow cheating relegation season after season.

The above just proves what an incredible job Eddie Howe has done, not just the results these past three years, but also for the future. A brilliant record of bringing in young signings with potential and helping them to progress and reach that potential.

For Newcastle United it is an upward trajectory with Eddie Howe and these Newcastle United owners. There will be ups and downs along the way but the underlying theme is one of progress, the club becoming ever stronger, NUFC moving towards its full potential in the long-term following a wasted decade and a half of Mike Ashley.
