After their 2-1 home victory over Udinese, the Nerazzurri are preparing for the first leg of their semi-final clash in the Coppa Italia. The first act of the derby will take place at San Siro at 21:00 CEST on Wednesday 2 April. The return fixture, meanwhile, is scheduled for 21:00 CEST on Wednesday 23 April.

HEAD TO HEAD

A new chapter in Derby della Madonnina history is set to be written. The upcoming first leg will be the 243rd time the two sides have met in all competitions. The overall head-to-head record favours Inter with 91 Nerazzurri victories compared to 81 Rossoneri wins, with 70 draws completing the picture.

In the Coppa Italia, the teams have met 27 times. In Italy's domestic cup competition, AC Milan have come out on top ten times, while Inter have won on nine occasions. There have been eight draws.

When it comes to semi-final encounters, there's nothing to separate the sides: both have qualified for the final four times each. The last such tie went the way of the Nerazzurri, who got the better of AC Milan in the last four in 2021/22.

The sides are meeting in a cup semi-final for the fifth time after previously doing so in the Coppa Italia in 1984/85 and 2021/22 and in the UEFA Champions League in 2002/03 and 2022/23.

Inter come into this game on the back of five consecutive wins in all competitions. The Nerazzurri last did better than this when they reached a tally of 13 successive victories in March 2024.

Another notable statistic concerns the Nerazzurri's attacking consistency: Inter have scored at least one goal in each of their last eleven encounters against AC Milan. In the history of the Derby della Madonnina, only twice has a team scored in twelve consecutive matches: on both occasions, it was the Nerazzurri (1954-1959 and 1993-1997).

The engine in the Nerazzurri midfield, Nicolò Barella is the Serie A central midfielder with the most assists in all competitions this season: eight. Against AC Milan, the No.23 already has three goal involvements to his name: a goal for Cagliari and two assists in the Nerazzurri shirt.

BASTONI, AN ADDITIONAL WEAPON

A leader in defence and a big contributor in attack. Having scored once and provided five assists, Bastoni already has six goal involvements to his name in 2024/25. AC Milan are one of the Armenian's favourite victims. Indeed, his only brace in Nerazzurri colours arrived against the Rossoneri in Inter's 5-1 victory on 16 September 2023. Since becoming a player in the Top 5 European leagues, AC Milan are one of the teams he's scored the most career goals against (four, the same as against Werder Bremen).

AC Milan began their Coppa Italia run with a 6-1 victory over Sassuolo in the round of 16. The following round saw Conceicao's men beat Roma 3-1 at San Siro to progress to the semi-finals.
