Torino are the surprise leaders of Serie A at the moment, and while AC Milan can temporarily take top spot from them with a win against Lecce they are also hoping to land arguably their best player too.
As Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) recalls, it’s been a little less than a month since the transfer window closed, but Milan are already planning for the winter. The long-term injury suffered by Ismael Bennacer could lead the management to invest in another midfielder.
For this reason, Milan have returned to closely monitoring the situation regarding Torino’s Samuele Ricci, who has had a brilliant start to the season for his club but also Luciano Spalletti’s Italian national team.
He was already being followed over the summer by the Rossoneri directors, but in the end they made the decision to focus on other profiles like Youssouf Fofana, who arrived from Monaco on a long-term deal for around €20m.
The obstacle regarding Ricci in view of January is the transfer fee and it seems to be rather complicated to overcome. His evaluation has in fact shot up, but Milan are studying some solutions that could give them an edge, such as inserting some youngsters as counterparts.
