Crystal Palace will once again be on the march back to Wembley in May after dispatching Aston Villa during a 3-0 FA Cup semi-final win.

With two sides looking to build - or rebuild - their respective names across the English landscape, a cup final date was on the cards across 90 minutes that delivered plenty of entertainment.

Despite dominating possession, Palace looked the better of the two sides when going forward during the run of play, and could have opened the scoring in the 29th minute in the wake of Villa's first big chance when Jean-Philippe Mateta was judged to have fouled Ezra Konsa in the build-up.

That would hardly deter the South London side, however, who would go on to open the scoring just minutes later thanks to a laser hit from Eberechi Eze, who beat Emi Martínez with sheer pace from outside the box to put Palace in front before the interval.

Oliver Glasner's men had a glorious chance to extend their lead when Eze was brought down in the box seven minutes after the restart, but Mateta's effort from the spot could only clang off the post and wide of the mark.

Palace would not have to wait long for their second response in the wake of disappointment, though, when Sarr turned goalscorer with a long-range strike of his own to beat Martínez at the bottom corner in the 58th minute.

Sarr had a chance to put the result beyond doubt ten minutes before the end of normal time, but the Senegalese winger could only nod wide of the far post after being picked out by Daichi Kamada, though he would go on to complete his brace in the fourth minute of added time.

All three strikes were more than enough to see Palace confirm passage to the final as they await the winner from tomorrow's clash between Manchester City and Nottingham Forest.
