Dayot Upamecano (26) and Theo Hernandez (27) were absent from France training on Tuesday, as reported by L’Équipe.
The duo are contending with minor injuries and are expected back for the training session on Wednesday evening. Upamecano was struggling with an ankle injury and Hernandez a calf injury. That was ahead of France’s trip to Split, Croatia, this evening. Once Les Bleus arrive in Croatia, Didier Deschamps and a player will undergo their press duties before one final session ahead of Thursday night’s match.
With Upamecano and Hernandez out, only 21 players trained. Marcus Thuram left earlier in the international break as he contends with his own ankle injury. Deschamps opted not to call up a replacement for the Inter Milan forward. With Thuram out, Ousmane Dembélé is expected to lead the line for France.
Les Bleus face Croatia in the first leg of their Nations League quarter-final on Thursday before a return leg in Paris on Sunday.
