However, those wins in Copenhagen were followed by dropped points on the road last month, as the Danes lost 1-0 in Spain and drew 2-2 with Switzerland.

Those results leave Denmark with work to do, with Serbia just three points behind heading into the group’s penultimate fixtures this evening.

Since the draw with Serbia in their opening Nations League fixture, Spain have sealed progress to the quarter-finals with three straight wins. They’ve won their last five meetings with Denmark, including a 1-0 win last month as Martin Zubimendi scored the decisive goal in Murcia.

Spain could hand a debut to Samu Aghehowa after the forward’s maiden call-up. The 20-year-old has scored 11 goals in 12 games since joining Porto from Atletico Madrid in the summer.
