Deportiva Minera fans chant name of Real Madrid star during Copa clash | OneFootball

The home fans in attendance at Real Madrid’s meeting with Deportivo Minera this evening have made clear their appreciation for Blancos star Luka Modrić.

Real, of course, are currently locked in action in the Copa del Rey, with a spot in the competition’s Last-16 on the line.

And, with the clash having now entered its closing stages, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops find themselves cruising towards precisely as much.

The aforementioned Luka Modrić, for his part, featured from the off in the fixture, from his customary berth in the middle of the park.

And, after finding the net against Valencia last week, the Croatian veteran found himself on the scoresheet once more this evening.

Following a wonderful exchange between the 39-year-old and teammate Brahim Díaz, Modrić picked out the far corner of the hosts’ net with aplomb.

And, as alluded to above, putting their side’s ongoing drubbing to the side for one moment, the Deportivo fans in attendance made use of the opportunity to reveal their appreciation for Real’s midfield maestro.

This came as chants of ‘Modrić, Modrić’ from the home crowd were accompanied by widespread bowing:
