Paulo Dybala’s third season with Roma is already over after the club’s announcement of his imminent surgery.

The player got hurt during Roma-Cagliari, trying a backheel a few minutes after coming on in the second half.

It was immediately clear that it was a more serious injury than usual but, until yesterday, the player was trying to understand if it was possible to adopt conservative therapy, which would have avoided surgery and would have given him some hope of returning to play before the end of the season.

La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that Dybala will undergo surgery at the beginning of next week, between Monday and Tuesday.

It remains unclear where: one option is Switzerland with the Klinik Gut in St. Moritz, the Friedkins’ trusted clinic where Professor Ahlbäumer operates. The alternatives lead to Austria or the United States.
