Fabrizio Romano reports that negotiations between Eintracht Frankfurt and Olympique Marseille for the transfer of French forward Elye Wahi are in the final stages and that an agreement is set to be confirmed soon.
Marseille were reported to be demanding €25m for the former RC Lens man. Wahi’s estimated market worth once reached a peak of €40m whilst playing for Lens in December 2023. Since joining Marseille in August, the 22-year-old has not played a full 90 minutes for his new team.
Wahi has scored just twice from open play this year for his Ligue 1 side. He’s not featured in head-coach Roberto de Zerbi’s starting XI since the ninth match-day in late October.
Twice, he’s been yanked by his gaffer at the half. His last league goal came off the bench in a 5-1 victory over Le Havre on January 5th.
As reported earlier today, Eintracht had also identified Brøndby IF forward Mathias Kvistgaarden as another candidate to replace Manchester City-bound Omar Marmoush.
