Hakan Calhanoglu could drop out of the Inter Milan starting eleven against Genoa, while Joaquin Correa will start the match.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Kristjan Asllani is a candidate to start the Serie A clash.

Inter Milan host Genoa in Serie A tomorrow evening.

The Nerazzurri will feel that the match is a virtual must-win. They have dropped points against all of AC Milan, Fiorentina, and Juventus this month already. And next weekend is the top-of-the-table clash with Napoli.

Genoa will not make it easy, however. They have already managed a draw with Inter this season, 2-2 at the Marassi on opening day.

By far the biggest team news for Inter will come in goal. Yann Sommer is set to miss a few weeks with injury, so Josep Martinez will make his first start in Serie A for Inter against his old side Genoa.

But Martinez will not be the only notable name on the teamsheet for the Nerazzurri.

Firstly, Sky report, Joaquin Correa will start tomorrow’s match.

The Argentine will get his second Serie A start of the season. He had previously started for Inter in a 5-0 win over Hellas Verona in November.

Meanwhile, reports Sky, Hakan Calhanoglu could drop out of the Inter starting eleven.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is considering giving the Turkish international a rest.

That comes after Calhanoglu had not looked at his best in recent matches.

If Calhanoglu is to get a rest, then it will be Kristjan Asllani who starts at the base of midfield for Inter.
