This past week, Inter kept their winning run in the Champions League alive.

The Nerazzurri had previously defeated the likes of Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys, and Arsenal.

And on Tuesday, Inter took three more points against Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

In the first half, Inter were dominant. They created enough chances that they were perhaps unfortunate not to score more than just one goal.

After the Nerazzurri failed to score a second, Leipzig started to get into the match. They made a late push in the second half as Inter dropped deeper.

But the Nerazzurri held out well defensively, with a gritty and organized performance.

Nicola Ventola: “Inter Beat RB Leipzig With Minimal Effort”

Former Inter striker Ventola gave his thoughts on Tuesday evening’s match.

“Leipzig disappointed me,” he said.

“Inter understood that they could manage the match and bring it home with minimal effort.”

“In my view they managed it physiologically with a lot of confidence,” Ventola said.

“There was an awareness that they had what it takes to win it.”

Ventola then said that “I look at their performance in a positive way.”

“Leipzig have been a tough team for many years now. Including on the international stage.”

But there was one sour element to Inter’s impressive performance against Leipzig on Tuesday.

“The only negative note is Benjamin Pavard,” said former striker Ventola.

“He’s now injured himself.”

“And when they were targeting him, he looked insecure to me,” he added of the former Bayern Munich defender.
