For former Spurs striker Peter Crouch, this season could be the one where Tottenham must end their 16-year drought of major trophies, especially with the squad capable of competing at the highest level.

As quoted by Daily Mail, Crouch believes that Tottenham are at a crossroads and that they can’t afford to wait any longer for a major trophy.

"When you look at some of those fixtures, they need to win something this year," he said on TNT Sports. "The Europa League is big for them but the League Cup as well, against Manchester United, that's a big game for Tottenham especially after the manager put himself under pressure with some of his comments."

Postecoglou has a proven track record of winning silverware in his second season at a club, but the pressure to repeat that success at Tottenham is mounting.

With important players still sidelined, including the likes of centre-backs, Crouch acknowledges that the coming weeks will be a test of Tottenham’s resilience.

"They're going to need players back," he added. '"t's Thursday, Sunday for about five weeks now."

With the team navigating a packed schedule in both domestic and European competitions, the former striker emphasises that Postecoglou’s squad must find a way to sustain their performances and overcome their inconsistency.

While the pressure is on Tottenham to end their wait for a trophy, Postecoglou remains committed to an attacking and exciting style of football.

Following the draw against Roma, he made it clear that he doesn’t want his team to settle for boring, defensive games.

"I would much rather we're exciting to watch and maybe it is edge-of-the-seat-stuff and sometimes we don't get the reward, like we could have tonight, but no, if you want those kind of games, there are plenty in world football you can watch every weekend," the coach said.
