Earlier this morning we wrote a piece about Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, looking at his stats this season and wondering if he might be given another chance to be number one at Stamford Bridge.
Since Petrovic was loaned out to Strasbourg in the summer, Robert Sanchez has been poor and Filip Jorgensen not much better. It seems likely the Blues make a move in that position this summer, and keeping Petrovic will surely be considered given the other options haven’t convinced.
But if the Blues don’t want to give him another shot in the Premier League, there are plenty of teams who will.
A source has told Chelsea News that Premier League teams including Brentford and Wolves have been watching Petrovic closely and are ready to make an attempt to sign him this summer if Chelsea are willing to discard him, as expected.

There is no indication of what fee Chelsea might ask – but his TransferMarkt page has him listed at €18m, and we’d expect Chelsea to look for double that. €36m would have been a huge ask for a goalkeeper not long ago, but Petrovic is still just 25, has Premier League and Ligue 1 experience, and looks to have really developed his ball-playing abilities under Liam Rosenior this season, strengthening his main existing weakness.
Chelsea paid €16m to sign Petrovic, so they’re certainly in line for a decent profit already. They might even prefer to loan him out for another year, this time to a Premier League team, to raise his value further.
If Chelsea don’t want him, there look to be no shortage of teams who will. If Brentford and Wolves are watching, you can be sure there are a host of others in England and abroad who will be doing the same.
