In an interview with Movistar, Fabián Ruiz (28) reflected on the impact that the departures of Paris Saint-Germain’s former superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappé have had on the team.
Mbappé’s long-awaited arrival at Real Madrid ahead of this season signalled a new era in the French capital. He was the last of the three stars to leave the club with Messi and Neymar taking their exits in the 2024 summer transfer window to Inter Miami and Al-Hilal respectively.
Fabián was keen to stress that while it was a phenomenal time when all three occupied the same field, the club looks to be in a healthier situation, “Being able to enjoy the three of them together was something unimaginable – something unique. It didn’t seem real. Then they left and now we don’t have any global stars, but we have a more united team.”
After a slow start to their Champions League campaign, PSG are now purring under Luis Enrique across all fronts. The team are undefeated domestically and into the Coupe de France semi-final, while recent results in Europe have seen the club score 18 in their last four games.
