Ferran Torres continues to make an impact as a super-sub for Barcelona. Even though he is not a regular starter, the 25-year-old continues to deliver for the team off the bench time and again.

On Sunday night, Torres was one of the catalysts as Barcelona bounced back from a two-goal deficit to beat Atletico Madrid 4-2 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

With his twin strike, the Spaniard took his tally for the season to 13 goals – the joint-highest of his career, levelling with the 13 he scored for Manchester City in 2020/21.

Third-highest goalscorer off the bench in Barcelona history

After scoring twice in the 4-2 victory against Atletico Madrid, Ferran has now netted 15 goals as a substitute since joining Barcelona from Manchester City in January 2022.

In the club’s history, only Julio Salinas (19) and Lionel Messi (39) have scored more after coming off the bench – making him the third-highest scoring substitute ever for the Blaugrana.

Torres has been particularly effective this season, scoring eight times as a substitute.

Alongside his double against Atletico, he also found the net after coming off the bench against Real Valladolid (7-0), Las Palmas (1-2), and Real Betis (2-2) in La Liga.

Ferran was also on target after being introduced as a substitute against Borussia Dortmund, scoring twice in a key Champions League win. He also netted after coming on against Real Betis in the Copa del Rey.

In previous seasons, Ferran scored three substitute goals in 2023/24, another three in 2022/23, and one in 2021/22.

In all, of his 15 total goals as a substitute, 10 have come in La Liga, four in the Champions League, and one in the Copa del Rey.
