The disappointing draw against Getafe has somewhat dampened the spirits at FC Barcelona following a great start to the season which saw the Blaugranes get big wins against the likes of Athletic Club, Real Madrid, and Real Betis.
However, they can get their form back with their next match in a competition in which they have been showing their best version so far, against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League.
Scheduled to be played on Tuesday, the preparations for this match are in full swing. In fact, Hansi Flick has already undertaken his customary press conference. Ahead of his presser, the Barcelona winger Ferran Torres also took the mics, and he made some interesting comments on this event.
The Spanish forward has been linked with a move away to AC Milan recently, and as Mundo Deportivo has reported, he utilized this opportunity to publicize his plans for his future, as he said:
“My future is to play many games here and win many titles with Barça. I have a lot of confidence in the club. It’s been a stage of great learning since I arrived.”
With these comments, Torres has clearly shown his intention to remain at Barcelona. The Blaugranes might be willing to part ways with him, as they need some income to get their desired reinforcements in the January transfer window, but the former Manchester City man is still not one of their top choices for a departure at the moment.
Although not a usual starter, the Spaniard has been quite an important player for Flick this season, and has 20 appearances to his name up to now. In these games, he has scored 6 goals and provided 2 assists.
