Feyenoord name Robin van Persie as new head coach | OneFootball

Robin van Persie has been named as the new head coach of Feyenoord.

Van Persie joins the Rotterdam side on a deal until summer 2027.

The former Arsenal and Manchester United striker has been coaching fellow Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen since July, with the Friesland side currently ninth in the Dutch top flight.

Van Persie started and ended his playing career at De Kuip and now returns as manager of the first team.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "Everyone knows how special my bond with Feyenoord is.

"I am really looking forward to working with the group of players at 1908 together with a strong staff and then playing matches in De Kuip, supported by the fans, and achieving success together."

Feyenoord are currently third in the Eredivisie and face Inter in the Champions League last 16.
