Moise Kean has hit the form of his life at Fiorentina, but with a €52m release clause in his contract, the temptation to go for a bigger club is one that ex-Serie A striker Jeda urges him to resist. ‘I’d sign for life in his shoes.’

It feels like a long time since Kean first made his mark on Italian football coming through the Juventus academy, but he never quite managed to live up to that initial promise.

After experiences with Hellas Verona, Everton and Paris Saint-Germain, the striker was starting to feel like a has-been at 25.

That all changed with the move to Fiorentina for €13m plus bonuses, where he has flourished thanks to 23 goals and three assists in 39 competitive games.

Considering the slowing down of Mateo Retegui for Atalanta in recent weeks, it might be worth a casino $5 deposit on Kean surging in the last few rounds of the campaign to take the Serie A Capocannoniere title.

This kind of form has seen him attract interest from top clubs like Barcelona, Newcastle United and Bayern Munich, especially as he is available with a release clause worth only €52m in July.

However, former Cagliari forward Jeda advises Kean to resist the call of these prestige teams and give it some more time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi to make his mark.

“Kean has found his dimension at Fiorentina,” Jeda told Tuttomercatoweb.

“In my view, Fiorentina are a great side and I would sign for life if I was in his shoes, as this is the ideal place for him to play.

“I’ve never seen Kean play like this, as he has matured, and he understands what he needs to do now. He mustn’t be in a rush, so staying for another year in Florence could only do him good.

“The best thing right now would be for him to consolidate this moment of form.”

Kean has been impressive across the board, finding the net 17 times in Serie A to set a new personal best in the top flight.

There were also five Conference League goals including the preliminary rounds, plus one in a single Coppa Italia match.

That form has been taken forward into the Italy squad too, where Kean now has seven goals in 21 senior caps.

Most notably, he bagged a brace for the 3-3 comeback draw away to Germany in the Nations League quarter-final second leg in March.
