The Friedkin Group seem to be ready to close the deal for Everton’s takeover.

After Roma and Cannes, the Friedkin family is preparing to make its entry into English football with the acquisition of Everton, a historic Premier League club currently in serious financial crisis.

As reported by Bloomberg, the negotiations between the Texan group and the current owner of Everton, Farhad Moshiri, are now at an advanced stage.

The Friedkins are looking to seal an agreement after the failure of negotiations between Everton and 777 Partners, a group of investors who seemed close to taking over the Liverpool-based club.

In addition to 777 Partners, the Friedkins also overcame competition from the American tycoon John Textor, already owner of a share in Crystal Palace.

However, Premier League regulations prevent a person from owning shares in more than one club in the same league, limiting Textor’s options.
