The FA having now released (see below) full details of the FA Cup sixth round draw.

It will be drawn on Sunday night after the conclusion of the Man U v Fulham match. With everything crossed, here’s hoping Newcastle United will have earlier that day knocked Brighton out at St James’ Park.

Fifteen clubs currently (Saturday morning) still in the competition after Friday night saw Villa knock out Cardiff.

The seven other ties to be played Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

If Newcastle United get through to the quarter-finals, they will be ball number 5 in Sunday’s FA Cup sixth round draw.

Official announcement from The FA – 28 February 2025:

‘The draw for the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final will be made on Sunday 2 March 2025, following the fifth-round tie between Manchester United and Fulham.

Former United defender Denis Irwin and Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy will be making the draw, which will take place shortly after the final whistle at Old Trafford with that tie kicking-off at 4.30pm GMT.

Fans can watch the draw via the BBC’s live coverage in the UK, or through our official social media channels on X, Instagram and Facebook.

Prior to that, clubs will be playing for their place in the last eight from Friday evening and on Saturday with the last tie taking place on Monday evening when Nottingham Forest host Ipswich Town.

The 2024-25 quarter-final will take place across the weekend of Saturday 29 March 2025, with winning clubs in the quarter-final collecting £450,000 from the competition prize fund.
