Tomas Soucek has tried to highlight the positives following yet another awful result this season under Julen Lopetegui.

West Ham fell to another 4-1 hammering at the hands of Manchester City, as the calls for the club to sack the under-fire Lopetegui continue to grow.

Soucek, who was called in as captain following the injury to Jarrod Bowen, desperately tried to draw up some positivity, despite many losing their patience now with how this season is panning out.

“We had a game plan, how we wanted to play, how we wanted to show ourselves, and I think we tried to play with the ball a lot,” the Czech international told the clubs Official Website.

“We created the chances, so it was good at the start, and even in the second half, we played very well in many minutes but at the end, we conceded four goals, and that just can’t happen.

“So we have a game plan that we want to stick to. We train every day on that, but the results are even more important.”

Soucek thoogh admittwd that the team is missing Bowen desperately, with the side lacking the cutting edge when it mattered yesterday.

“We miss him, he’s a great player, and a great guy as well, and I just want to show that I can step up for him and lead the team,” added Soucek.
