Roma could offer Bryan Cristante to Inter Milan on loan as part of a deal for midfielder Davide Frattesi.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
He reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri could consider a short-term loan of Cristante as a makeweight in a deal.
Roma’s interest in Inter midfielder Frattesi is certainly no secret.
Reportedly, the 25-year-old wants to leave Inter.
He has become disgruntled over a lack of playing time, and wants to join a club where he’ll be the first-choice starter.
However, a deal for Frattesi would be tough for the Giallorossi on a financial level. Inter are reportedly holding out for a fee of €45-50 million.
The price tag has not put Roma off from trying to sign Frattesi, however.
The club from the Italian capital could even make their move in January, looking to capitalize on Frattesi’s desire to leave.
Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Di Marzio anticipates that Frattesi’s name is near the top of Roma Sporting Director Florent Ghisolfi’s agenda on his current visit to Milan.
And Di Marzio names one player in particular who Roma could offer to Inter as a makeweight in a deal.
Midfielder Cristante looks to be out of favour at Roma under Claudio Ranieri.
However, Inter are interested in the 29-year old, Di Marzio reports.
Holding midfield depth looks to be a bit of a problem position for Inter at the moment.
Therefore, Di Marzio anticipates, Inter would consider taking Cristante in on loan as part of a deal for Frattesi.
