Harry Redknapp explains selection of these particular Newcastle United stand outs

Harry Redknapp has picked his best 11 performers from the weekend’s action.
The Premier League team of the weekend that has most impressed him.
Included in his top 11 are two stand out Newcastle United players.
Players who in Harry’s opinion contributed so much to the thrashing of Man U at St James’ Park.
Harry Redknapp explaining to BetVictor why he chose this Newcastle United duo amongst his Premier League team of the week:
I know what people are going to say but how can I leave out a keeper that saved two penalties? Aaron Ramsdale is getting in the side! I know he conceded a few goals but that’s unbelievable. I’m curious what will happen with him over the summer, I’d be surprised if he’s not playing Premier League football.
At right-back, I’m going with Conor Bradley. I thought he had a solid game against West Ham, and it will be interesting to see if he becomes the starter here when Trent Alexander-Arnold does go. He doesn’t have the creativity of Trent but he’s young and full of energy and defensively, he might be an improvement.
Sepp van den Berg was outstanding at the Emirates. Brentford were well worth a point, and he was so dominant at the back, he dealt with everything that came his way. He came in for quite big money from Liverpool but he’s a strong defender.
Jarrad Branthwaite was a colossus at the back for Everton, as they got a brilliant win away at Nottingham Forest. Obviously, he had so much hype around him last season and he’s not quite lived up to that this season, but he was magnificent here. He’s so physically strong, he wins virtually everything in the air!
Rayan Ait-Nouri is a lovely footballer, he’s back in my team this week. He scored one, created another and was just brilliant on the left. He’s a top player and someone that I’m certain clubs will be looking at over the summer.
It was great to see Kevin De Bruyne have such a great game. He was at the heart of that Manchester City comeback and whilst it wasn’t quite vintage De Bruyne, it was close to it. I still think he’s got another year in him, and he’s not exactly ruled out staying in England. Imagine he goes to a rival this summer!
My Player of the Week this week is Sandro Tonali. To be honest, it’s not just for this week, he has been superb for weeks and I’m not seeing many better midfielders right now. He was everywhere for Newcastle; he covered every blade of grass. The volleyed finish for the opener was superb as well. A dominant performance.
I’m putting one of his teammates in, Harvey Barnes. I think he has become a bit of a forgotten man, and a little underrated. He took his two goals very well and he’s completely deserving of his spot in the side at the minute. He’s had his share of injuries in the last few seasons but it’s great to see more of the form that caught the eye when he broke through at Leicester.
Omar Marmoush has proven to be an excellent January addition. He has a real eye for goal, he strikes a very good ball. I like his versatility; he can play virtually anywhere across the frontline. Obviously with Erling Haaland out, he’s becoming the main man up top for City and he’s doing well. There’s more to come from him.
Jorgen Strand Larsen has been a good bit of business for Wolves, and I think he’s got a lot of the tools needed to be a great number nine. He’s quick, so strong and he’s such a handful for defenders. He’s up to 12 goals now for the season, that’s a decent return for someone in his first season in the country.
It was a strange game against Southampton, but Ollie Watkins was the difference. It was vital that they got the win, and it was Watkins that got them on their way with what was a fantastic finish. All eyes will now be on PSG, what a massive night that will be at Villa Park.
My Manager of the Week has to be David Moyes, they’ll win the league next season at this rate! The turnaround since he’s come in has just been amazing and right now, he’s three points above West Ham in the table, it’s funny how things work out. Everton looked so low in confidence, so goal-shy when he came in, but they’ve been transformed. That game against Forest was one of those where you just had a feeling that the longer it went, the more likely it was that Everton would steal it at the end, and they did!
