Jamie O’Hara is impressed with what he’s seen from Chelsea so far this season but claimed Robert Sanchez is a big problem for them.

The Blues returned to winning ways on the weekend with a 2-1 victory away at Leicester thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez.

The win ensured the Chelsea remained third in the league and on track to qualify for the Champions League, but following Manchester City’s defeat to Tottenham they are now just a point behind Pep Guardiola’s men.

O’Hara tears into Sanchez

The performances of Sanchez have been a talking point for the majority of the season and the Spain international has come in for heavy criticism.

Maresca has come out and defended Sanchez publicly on several occasions, but the shot stopper has made a number of costly errors already this season.

The 26-year-old old was once again named in the starting line-up against the Foxes, but didn’t have much to do with Leicester offering very little in the way of attacking threat.

The common consensus amongst fans is Sanchez isn’t good enough and former Blues keeper Mark Schwarzer has called on the club to upgrade on the former Brighton man.

O’Hara has now had his say on Sanchez and didn’t hold back as he labelled the Spaniard as terrible and a massive problem.

“Chelsea are looking good you know,” he told talkSPORT as quoted by The Chelsea Chronicle.

“They’re a bit shaky at the back still. Sanchez, the goalkeeper, is a massive problem.

“He’s terrible. Teams that win the league don’t have a bad goalkeeper. When you look at title winners, they all have one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”

O’Hara’s words are certainly strong but it’s hard to disagree with him and if Chelsea are serious about challenging for or winning the Premier League title they are going to need a better goalkeeper.

Filip Jorgensen will have an opportunity to try and put some pressure on Sanchez against Heidenheim in the Conference League on Thursday, but Sanchez will almost certainly return to the line-up on Sunday against Aston Villa.
