Hull City confirmed on Tuesday that CONMEBOL have suspended Óscar Zambrano with immediate effect.
The decision arrived after the 20-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder breached the South American Football Confederation's anti-doping rules in Articles 6 and 7.
Hull City have not disclosed how long the suspension will last, stemming from an incident during his time at LDU Quito.
According to the club, the player will exercise his right to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Signed on loan in August 2024, Zambrano has made eight Championship appearances, registering one goal and one assist.
